ORIGIN
This wine is the product of two gently sloping,
south-west facing vineyards, "Ciusė" and
"Badia", in the district of
Provaglio d'Iseo.
SOIL
COMPOSITION
Of morainic origin, it exhibits red, reddish brown
structure in a mixture of slit and clay. Grass is grown
between the rows while the rows themselves are worked
mechanically. Organic fertilizer is spread on the soil
every four years.
VINES
100% Chardonnay from French clones 96-97-77 and
Italian clones 130 on an SO4 graft-support. The vines
are permanently bound with 3 branches bearing 6 gemmas
each. The vines were planted in 1980.
WINE-MARKING
METHOD
Hand picked into small boxes; light pressing of
complete bunches. After fermentation has been started, a
proportion is transferred into small oak barrels to
complete the process. Maturation takes place in wood for
approximately 6 months with their natural yeasts. From
there it spends some months in a tank to settle down
with more wine from the same vineyard matured in
stainless steel.
ORGANOLEPTIC
CARD
Wel-saturated yellow with ripe, golden reflections.
The scent is rich and concentrated with a clear presence
of burnt wood, mature fruit and honey. In the mouth it
is sappy, well-structured with a good acidic balance.
The taste of wood is also pleasing to the palate.
