 ORIGIN
"Tra due valli" is the name of the
vineyard which produces Franciacorta D.O.C. Rosso. It is
situated on a hillside in the district of Provaglio
d'Iseo.
SOIL
COMPOSITION
Of morainic origin, the underlying land structure is
evident even at surface layers. The texture of the soil
is a stony mixture of slit and clay. Grass is grown
between the rows while the rows themselves are worked
mechanically. The only intervention is the spreading of
organic fertilizer once every four years.
VINES
The grapes are harvested manually into small boxes,
separated gently from the bunches, and uncontrolled
fermentation takes place between 25-32°C. As many as 4
pressing and remontages take place a day especially
during the early stasges. The wine is left to mature in
stainless steel containers for at least 12 months.
Before bottling, a small percentage is added of the same
wine matured in oak.
ORGANOLEPTIC
CARD
The colors is an intense red with ruby tints. The
taste is clean with hints of cherry and prune and deeper
suggestions of spice, pepper and wood.
The tannins are soft on the palate and overall the wine
has a long, sustained profile.
